I know picking a therapist can be exhausting. I also know how stressful it can be wishing and hoping that you find the right fit. I know how much it sucks when you go through the whole process and then realize they aren’t “the one.” Nothing can compare to an in person meeting to test connection, but the least I can do is introduce myself and we can go from there!
The “professional” stuff
I graduated from Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2017 with a Bachelors in Human Services with a minor in Psychology. I immediately pursued my Masters in Counselor Education from Indiana University Fort Wayne obtaining my degree in May of 2020 - specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked locally in Fort Wayne over the last few years within a wonderful group practice with some pretty amazing people. In January of 2023, I decided it was time to take a chance and open my own solo counseling practice - Breathe Easy Counseling & Consulting. I couldn’t be more happy to be here.
I am trained in EMDR, Sand Tray, & Gottman 1&2 for Couples. I primarily work with ages 8+ and specialize in anxiety, trauma, grief, and career. Learn more about the services I offer here.
The “personal” stuff
The first thing you should know about me is that I am an open book. So, let’s get into it. I became a therapist because I wanted to help people. That’s the cookie cutter but also very truthful answer. What I discovered about myself in the process of pursuing this career is how vitally important human connection is and how we all need and deserve love and support in our lives. I operate from a “person centered” lens because we are all human and we all deserve to be treated as such. In my office, you are my equal, you will be heard, you will be supported, you will be challenged and it will be hard, but you will always have a safe space with me. I have my own struggles with anxiety and have found things that work in my own life, including therapy and medication. I will never claim to be an expert in your experiences, but I am equipped to assist you in your healing journey. I will meet you where you are at and we will figure this thing out together,
I use images of the beach often. I do that for a reason. For me, one of the happiest places on Earth is Gulf Shores, Alabama. When I stand in the sand, looking out at the crystal clear water, with the waves rushing and the warmth of the sun - I feel lighter, I feel joy, I feel peace. I can breathe and it’s easy. I want you to experience that feeling in your every day life and I want to help you get there.
Are you ready?
